How does your company manage global new hires/employee transfers coming into the US without a US SSN with regard to pay and benefits?
At Covance we issue a temporary number while the actual number is pending receipt to effectively transition new hires and transferring employees onto the US pay and benefit programs without a gap. We then adjust the payroll reporting records to report all earnings to the correct/actual SSN. The benefit programs are also updated once the correct SSN number feeds over to Mercer our benefits administrator.
Any insight on how you manage this process would be greatly appreciated!
